Workforce Summit 2012 December 7

Dec 7 2011 - 12:30pm
Dec 7 2011 - 2:30pm

This season, the governor declared an emergency because there were insufficient workers for the harvest and authorized the use of prison labor.  It is becoming more difficult to obtain a legal and stable workforce in an economical way.  Washington Farm Bureau is sponsoring Workforce Summit 2012 held immediately following the WA Hort convention.  Topics include:
Alternate labor sources – Prison labor, refugees and farm labor contractors – other growers are using them.  Can they work for you?

E-Verify, No-Match and I-9 Audits, the latest from D.C.

Making H-2A affordable – new ideas to make this
program work!

HR Superstar – a new program from WAFLA that covers you in the event of a legal services complaint or government inspection.

Plan now for 2012 solutions!  The cost is $50 for WAFLA members and includes lunch and materials. Free WAFLA membership is available to WFB members. You must create your membership to register at the member price at http://wafla.org. Registration available at http://wafla.org/trainingandevents.

December 7 at Wenatchee Convention Center from 12:30 to 2:30P
