With less than a week left in the 2015 regular legislative session, two bills that would help improve how the state manages wolves are stalled on the Senate floor:
HB 2107 would require the WA Department of Fish & Wildlife to update the existing wolf management plan to better address the state’s increasing wolf population and the impacts it is having on livestock operators. The plan is an essential tool to the state’s management of wolves.
HB 1676 would create a peer-reviewed study of the impacts wolves are having on the state’s deer and elk populations.
Both bills passed out of the House with a 98-0 vote.
Please call your state senator and urge them to bring the bills up for a vote.
