Renton-based Orca Bay Seafoods has applied to build a 314,000-square-foot warehouse with hundreds of workers on a portion of the former Weyerhaeuser property in Federal Way.
Weyerhaeuser is set to move into its new headquarters in Seattle’s Pioneer Square in mid-September after selling its 425-acre campus for $70.5 million in February.
The new warehouse would be built on what is now largely a forested area, the Federal Way Mirror reported. An application filed by Orca Bay Seafoods indicates plans for a 68-foot-tall warehouse building with office and food-processing space, parking for 310 vehicles and 35 trailers and wetland filling on the site, which totals 19 acres.
The city will consider the plan following public comments, which are due Aug. 22.
