WASHINGTON AG NETWORK – KEVIN ROUNCE Cherry growers have shipped more than 25.5 million 20-pound boxes thus far this year. Many shippers are closing up shop on the cherry season, but the latest from Northwest Cherries says they expect harvest to last through the month of August for some growers. Size and quality are also peaking according to Northwest Cherries. The 25.5 million boxes easily tops the previous high of Pacific Coast Total Shipments which had previously shown the Northwest shipping 23.2 million boxes in 2014 as the record high.
