WASHINGTON AG NETWORK – GLENN VAAGEN – As the Conference Committee starts weighing the House and Senate Farm Bill proposals to get a final piece of legislation, Dan Newhouse is promoting how the legislation helps agriculture nationwide. The Central Washington Republican says the Ag economy depends on the Farm Bill for a variety of reasons, including secure safety net programs.
“Important research opportunities, and requirements we need to stay on the cutting edge. And as you know, the Farm Bill provides nutritious food items to needy people in communities in my district and around the country.”
Newhouse added it’s important to pass the Farm Bill on time, not only for Central Washington producers, but farmers across the nation.
